Michael G. Henning is the founder of the Henning Family Business Center, a management and consulting firm specializing in business growth, change and future leadership headquartered in Effingham, Illinois. 

Mike makes approximately 50 presentations each year on topics such as succession in the privately-held business, improving communications, relationships and effectiveness; compensation, roles, titles, estate fairness, and developing next generation leaders and managers.

Prior to starting the Henning Family Business Center in 1985, Mike was a high school teacher/coach and administrator.  He also has over 30 years experience as a successful business owner, including 13 years in the family business.

Mike is recognized both as America’s Family Business "Coach", and as the most frequently used speaker in the U. S. on privately held business succession issues.

He holds a B.S., M.S. and Specialist degrees from both Eastern and Southern Illinois Universities.  Mike is presently an active member of the Family Firm Institute, where he is recognized as a Fellow in Family Business Consultation, and the National Speakers' Association’s Top 8 Percent by earning his Certified Speaking Professional status in 1993.  He is married, has four children and nine grandchildren. When he is not traveling, conducting seminars or consulting, he enjoys golfing and skiing.  He seems to be a terminal intermediate at both.

A partner with an aggressive CPA and consulting firm in central Illinois.  On a regular basis, Ken provides tax, accounting and compensation along with many other business services to closely held businesses.

Ken has nearly 30 years experience providing business owning auto parts organizations and other companies with income tax, estate, succession, contraction planning, business expansion and debt management.  Ken has presented six times for members of the Alliance. Ken has presented for his peers at CPA related organizations over the past 30 years, for many corporations, service organizations and universities.

He has served as a director of many boards and remains extremely active in this area.

Ken will coach members of the audience through the extremely challenging process of reading, comprehending and initiating action based on information found on the company’s balance sheet and financial statements.
