Evening in Texas

Texas – It’s like a whole other country. Arriving at Lone Star Park attendees will experience an evening with all our Lone Star State has to offer. Stroll through an entrance as “big as Texas” to be greeted with celebrated Texas refreshments, strolling musicians, jockeys in silks, specialty horses, exhibitions, photo opportunities and more. Upon entering the Silks Hall for the event attendees will encounter the sights, sounds and flavors that distinguish the seven regions of Texas. From the frontier forts of Big Bend and the Hill Country’s German influence to the bayou flavor of the Piney Woods and Gulf Coast and beyond, Texas will surprise and delight guests at the diversity within our borders. Folks in period dress, attraction costumes and dazzling displays will make this a night to remember. To highlight each of seven regions, Texas partners and regional food and beverages will be featured in designated regions of the hall. With a map and menu of the regions, mosey through and visit with all the partners. Boot scootin’ live entertainment will be provided by several of our sponsors including the Amarillo Convention and Visitors Bureau – Texas Express from the musical Texas, Granbury – from Granbury Live, Sherman/Denison – Main Street Showcase variety show as well as the Grapevine Opry variety show. Two additional stages will showcase our richness of Texas entertainment with of cowboy poetry, mariachis, zydeco, Six Flags entertainers and more. Alternating between stage and track, featured track performances will include Fort Concho Color Guard, dressage horses and barrel racing. Beautiful horse breeds of Texas will be on display in the paddock. Lone Star Park ticket takers will roam the hall for easy wagering and mutuel windows will be open for those interested in the off track races.
